Staycation
The Staycation is a Tradewinds riff from bartender Devin Kennedy and can be found in the Easy Tiki Book by Chloe Frechette. This is a great riff on the Tradewinds with the use of Rye Whiskey to really change things up. In addition to the standard apricot liqueur, passion fruit is added as well. In the YouTube video, I mistakenly used 1/4 of apricot liqueur but the recipe has been updated here.
Staycation
Ingredients
1 oz lemon juice (30 ml)
¼ oz passion fruit syrup (7.5 ml)
½ oz apricot liqueur (15 ml)
1 oz cream of coconut (1 part Coco Lopez to 1 part coconut milk)(30 ml)
1 oz rye whiskey (30 ml) | preferably Rittenhouse Rye
1 oz aged demerara rum (30 ml) | preferably Hamilton 86
Directions
- Shake all ingredients with ice. Open pour into collins glass and add more ice inf needed. Garnish with mint and a slice of lemon
